The Orthodontist
Despina-Marina Koutsoubou
She got into the Dental School of the University of Athens in 2003 and finished her studies there in 2008.
She worked as a general dentist in a private practice until she got accepted in the 3-year post graduate program in Orthodontics in Karolinska Institutet Stockholm, Sweden (link). She completed her training there, obtaining a Master in odontology with specialization in Orthodontics (MSc) in December 2013, with a master thesis regarding patient information delivery throughout orthodontic treatment and its impact on patients’ quality of life.
Her training also included the treatment of patients suffering from sleep apnea syndrome, with her inclusion in the treating team of specialists of those patients and manufacturing specific, custom made appliances for them.
During her training in Sweden, she worked part-time as a dentist in a private practice in Stockholm, where she dealt with general practitioner dental work and counseling in orthodontic cases.
From 2015 until January 2022 she was in charge of the orthodontic department of two clinics in the Netherlands.
Certified Orthodontist
She got certified as a registered Orthodontist after taking the ministry of health exam in Greece. Apart from the standard orthodontic techniques that deal with the majority of cases (fixed appliances, clear appliances, removable plates), she is a certified user of special techniques such as:
